Deck Builder in Logan, Utah

New decks, deck replacements, and covered outdoor living across Cache Valley and Bear Lake, built for the snow load we actually get here.

Deck Construction in Cache Valley

A deck here has to survive winter, not just look good in June

Most failed decks in Cache Valley were not built badly on the surface. They were built without the footings, framing, or fasteners to handle a few feet of wet snow and twenty years of freeze and thaw. We size the structure first, then build the deck you actually see on top of it.

Investment

What drives the cost

These are the factors you will see itemized in your estimate.

Size and height

Square footage plus how far off the ground. Taller decks need more structure and stairs.

Decking material

Pressure-treated wood, cedar, and composite span a wide range up front and an even wider one over twenty years.

Railing choice

Railing is often a bigger share of a deck budget than people expect, especially metal and cable.

Cover or no cover

A roof or timber cover is effectively a small structure and is priced like one.

The only honest way to price this is to look at it. Book a free walkthrough → or see what our bid looks like →

Doing it right

Why deck framing is the whole job

Footings decide everything

Footings have to go below frost line and be sized for the load above. Shallow footings are why decks heave and pull away from houses.

Snow load is not optional

A covered deck is a roof. It gets designed for the same snow load as your house, or it becomes a very expensive lesson.

The ledger is the danger

The connection to your house is where decks fail catastrophically. Flashed and fastened correctly, or not at all.

★★★★★

“They did the bid, scheduled, and completed my job in under a week. The work is high quality, and best of all, they came in under bid. I absolutely intend to hire them in the future.”

Questions homeowners ask

How long does a deck take to build?
Most decks are a short build once materials are on site, and you get a real schedule before we start. Covered decks and timber structures take longer.
Do I need a permit for a deck?
Usually yes, especially attached decks and anything covered. We handle the permit and inspections.
Composite or wood?
Composite costs more up front and almost nothing to maintain. Wood costs less and needs sanding and sealing regularly. In our climate most people are happier with composite in the long run.
Can you rebuild my existing deck instead of replacing it?
Sometimes. If the footings and framing are sound we can re-deck and re-rail it. If the structure has moved or rotted, rebuilding is safer and often not much more.
Do you build at Bear Lake?
Yes, regularly. Bear Lake decks are some of our favorite work, and we understand the access, weather, and remote-owner realities up there.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Utah Contractor License #14294523-5501, licensed and insured in Utah and Idaho, and every deck carries a 1-year workmanship warranty.
