FAQ

Questions clients ask before they build

Here are straightforward answers about scope, estimates, timelines, communication, and what to expect during a remodel or build in Cache Valley.

What types of construction projects do you take on?
We handle a wide range of residential and small commercial construction in Cache Valley — including remodels, additions, basement finishing, framing, concrete work, finish carpentry, and select custom builds. If you’re not sure whether your project is a fit, reach out and we’ll talk through your goals.
What areas do you serve?
We’re based in Cache Valley and proudly serve Northern Utah and Southern Idaho — including Logan, Smithfield, Preston, Paradise, and surrounding areas. For larger projects, we occasionally travel further — just ask.
How do I request a quote or estimate?
You can fill out the contact form on our website or call/text us directly. We’ll ask a few quick questions about your project and location, then schedule a walkthrough or phone consultation (depending on scope). After that, you’ll receive a clear written estimate — no hidden fees or surprises.
Do you give detailed estimates or just a single number?
We aim to provide clear, itemized pricing wherever possible, including material allowances if selections aren’t finalized yet.
What causes remodel costs to change?
Most cost changes come from one of three things: Scope changes you request after the estimate, material upgrades or selection changes, or surprises behind the walls (water damage, framing issues, old plumbing, electrical). If anything changes, we talk through it first and document the plan before moving forward.
What happens if you find something unexpected behind the walls?
We pause and show you what we found, explain why it matters, and walk you through realistic options (repair vs. replace, code requirements, and cost/timeline impact). No surprises — you’ll always know the plan before we proceed.
Do you offer design or planning help?
Yes. We can collaborate with you (or your designer) to refine plans, layout, and material selections before construction begins. Solid planning upfront helps prevent delays and saves money once work starts — especially for kitchens, bathrooms, and layout changes.
Do you help with design decisions and material selections?
Yes. We’ll help you think through layout, function, durability, and finish choices so your remodel looks great and works well long-term.
How long will my project take?
Every project is unique, but once we confirm scope and selections, we’ll provide a realistic timeline up front and keep you updated as the project moves through each phase. We take scheduling seriously and communicate clearly if adjustments are needed.
How do you handle delays?
Delays can happen due to inspections, specialty items (like shower glass/doors), weather, or trade scheduling. If anything changes, we communicate early, adjust the plan, and keep you informed so you’re never left guessing.
Who will I communicate with during the project?
You’ll have a clear point of contact throughout the build. We believe consistent communication is part of quality work — not an extra.
How often will I get updates?
We provide regular updates, and if anything impacts cost, schedule, or next steps, we reach out right away — not at the end.
How do you keep my home clean during construction?
We protect floors and surfaces, contain dust as much as possible, and keep the job site tidy throughout the project. We treat your home like it’s lived in — because it is.
Do you do accessibility remodels (walk-in showers, curbless showers, grab bars)?
Yes. We can help plan safer, more accessible spaces with options like walk-in showers, curbless entries, grab bars, wider openings, and practical layout improvements for aging-in-place.
What’s your workmanship warranty?
We stand behind our work. If something needs attention after completion, we want to know — and we’ll handle it professionally.
How do you handle punch list items at the end?
Near completion, we do a walkthrough with you and document any final adjustments. We don’t want you discovering issues after we’re gone — we want the finish to feel complete and polished.
